Warming Winter Porridge

What's great about it?

Porridge is my go-to breakfast during the Winter months. There is something comforting about having a big bowl of warm, creamy oats that says ‘everything will be ok’.

This recipe is dairy and wheat free, high in protein, rich in omega 3, anti-inflammatory, immune-boosting and helps to control blood sugar levels. Adding an egg in to your porridge is a great way to incorporate protein as well as making the porridge nice and creamy (think cake batter creamy) mmmmmmm

  • 1/2 cup Wheat-free Rolled Oats like THIS ONE
  • If not using Red Tractor Omega 3 mix, add 2 Tbsp chia seeds and 1 tbsp flaxseed meal
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger ground
  • 1 tsp nutmeg ground
  • 1 tsp turmeric ground
  • 1 tsp sweetener such as honey or 1-2 drops of Monk Fruit concentrate¬†
  • 1 egg


  1. Place all ingredients (except for the egg & sweetener) in a saucepan on low heat for 5-10 mins until thickened
  2. Stir in the egg & sweetener on low heat until cooked through
  3. Add toppings such as blueberries, walnuts, pumpkin seeds to serve
